This live 2–3 hour continuing education course was developed specifically for professionals performing medical tattoo procedures and provides a practical understanding of HIPAA compliance within a tattoo practice.
Throughout the training, we'll cover:
HIPAA fundamentals and terminology
Protected Health Information (PHI)
The HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules
Patient rights and informed consent
Privacy policies and documentation
Administrative, physical, and technical safeguards
Breach response and reporting
Practical case studies and real-world tattoo studio scenarios
The course concludes with a 30-question final examination. A passing score of 70% is required to successfully complete the course. Participants who pass will receive an AMT Certificate of Completion, valid for one year, delivered by email within 24–48 hours after the exam has been graded.
