We are excited to introduce Vanessa Dougherty, an AMT Board Certified Artist specializing in Nipple & Areola Tattoos and Scar Camouflage. Vanessa’s journey into medical tattooing began with a deep desire to expand her knowledge and skills beyond permanent makeup and body art. After years of experience in both areas, she was introduced to medical tattooing through referrals from a local plastic surgeon. Many of the surgeon’s clients, who had undergone reconstructive surgery, inquired about adding pigment to their scars, sparking Vanessa’s passion for this specialized field.
Through her commitment to learning and perfecting her craft, Vanessa has honed her skills in creating realistic and impactful results for her clients. With hundreds of successful medical tattoo procedures, she has become known for her expertise in 3D Areola tattoos, helping clients regain confidence and a sense of normalcy after significant life events.
At Restorative Permanent Makeup, Vanessa’s practice is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of her clients. In addition to offering life-changing restorative services, she runs a monthly pro bono program for those who cannot afford medical tattooing. Vanessa’s work aligns with AMT’s mission to provide equitable access to quality services while advocating for insurance inclusivity and continued education within the field.
